Due to the lack of residential services available for people with disabilities in rural Mid-Michigan, the parents of a child with developmental disabilities from Westphalia, Michigan formed Austin’s House, then gathered a team of dedicated and compassionate community members who share their vision. The main purpose of Austin’s House is to provide safe and secure residential services for people with developmental disabilities in Michigan, with a focus of providing it in the Mid-Michigan area. Our goal is that through our home(s), people with disabilities will be able to remain close to their families throughout their whole life and continue to be part of the community in which they grew up. The eligibility qualifications have been developed with this goal in mind and are as follows:
- Individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- Must demonstrate good health and not need additional care beyond assistance of daily living.
- Individuals must be a resident of Michigan.
